EMDR Therapy Now Available in Person, in Welland
If you have been feeling overwhelmed, emotionally reactive, stuck in recurring patterns, or weighed down by difficult experiences from the past, EMDR therapy may help.
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is an evidence-based therapy approach designed to help the brain and nervous system process distressing experiences in a safer and more adaptive way. Many individuals seek EMDR therapy for trauma, anxiety, panic, chronic stress, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, emotional overwhelm, or experiences that continue to feel emotionally “stuck.”
I am Harry Vetro, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) offering in-person EMDR therapy in Welland, with virtual sessions available across Ontario. My approach is grounded, collaborative, and trauma-informed, creating space to move at a pace that feels manageable and supportive for you.
What Can EMDR Therapy Help With?
EMDR therapy may support individuals experiencing:
Anxiety and chronic stress
Trauma and PTSD
Panic attacks and nervous system overwhelm
Difficult childhood experiences
Relationship wounds and attachment patterns
Shame and self-criticism
Emotional numbness or disconnection
Intrusive memories or recurring emotional triggers
Burnout and emotional exhaustion
Many people understand their experiences logically, yet still feel emotionally stuck. EMDR works differently than traditional talk therapy by helping the nervous system process unresolved experiences more deeply.
What Does EMDR Therapy Look Like?
EMDR therapy involves structured phases that help build safety, grounding, emotional regulation, and processing capacity before deeper trauma work begins.
Sessions may include:
identifying emotional triggers and patterns
developing grounding and regulation strategies
exploring memories, beliefs, emotions, and body sensations
bilateral stimulation techniques used within EMDR
integrating insights into everyday life
The process is collaborative and paced carefully. Therapy is not about forcing painful memories, but helping your system process experiences in a way that feels safer and more manageable.
In Person EMDR Therapy in Welland
In-person EMDR therapy offers a grounded and supportive space to slow down, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with yourself. Sessions take place face-to-face in a calm and private environment designed to support emotional safety, nervous system regulation, and meaningful therapeutic work.
Many individuals throughout Welland and the Niagara region seek therapy while navigating stress, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, burnout, anxiety, or unresolved experiences from the past. In a city that often values resilience, hard work, and pushing through, it can be difficult to slow down long enough to recognize how much your nervous system may still be carrying.
Having access to local, in-person EMDR therapy in Welland means you do not need to travel far to begin receiving support. Many people find that consistent, nearby therapy helps create a stronger sense of stability, safety, and continuity throughout the healing process.
Many individuals throughout Welland and the Niagara region also seek in-person therapy for the sense of presence, connection, and focus it can provide during the healing process.
A Grounded, Trauma-Informed Approach
My work integrates EMDR with trauma-informed psychotherapy approaches that focus on emotional safety, self-understanding, and nervous system regulation. Therapy is not about “fixing” you. It is about creating space to understand what your mind and body may have been carrying for a long time.
Fees
Sessions are $160.00 per 60-minute session. I offer a limited number of reduced-rate spots for students, individuals experiencing financial barriers, or those without insurance coverage.
